Rich the Kid’s professional career began in 2013 after the release of his debut solo mixtape Been About the Benjamins.

The beef between Rich The Kid and Lil Uzi Vert started on twitter with a little spat that no one knew was going to escalate to the level it finally got to.

It began when Lil Uzi Vert who had been signed to Drama and DJ Don Cannon’s Generation Now imprint back in 2015, became unhappy with the way things had turned in the record deal he had signed with them.

Lil Uzi Vert took to Twitter to show his displeasure by saying, “And if y’all do sign … sign 2 a major, don’t sign 2 a rapper or a DJ It’s Just Easier When The Time Come For That Fake S–t.”

That was the beginning of the whole issue. Though the Lil Uzi Vert’s tweet was directed at DJ Drama, Rich The Kid took the opportunity to make a jab at Lil Uzi Vert.

He tweeted a few hours later with a tease at Uzi about his label situation and how he should join the 25-year-old’s Rich Forever Music imprint when he had the chance, “That’s why you SHOULDA signed [with] Rich forever.”

Uzi must have seen the tweet quick, and he too was quicker with a savage response. The “Sauce It Up” artist quoted Rich The Kid’s tweet, mentioning it above and saying, “Boy, I’m not signing for no 20 racks,” and he followed it with a bat emoji.

It seemed Rich The Kid wasn’t through with the two back and forth he was having with Lil Uzi Vert, and about two days later he took their squat to Instagram, saying, “Hey man, if your boss and CEO ain’t treating you right, come over to Rich Forever Music, ya dig!”

For a while, nothing was heard from the two until Rich The Kid was at an interview in a Los Angeles radio station where The Kid was asked if he would consider signing Lil Uzi Vert, and he responded with “Not right now, maybe back then,” he said. “Maybe I would sign him on my business, but for personal reasons, I wouldn’t sign him.”
