Mike Tirico was born on December 13, 1966, to Donald Tirico and Maria Tirico in Whitestone New York, United States and christened, Michael Todd Tirico.
As a young boy, he lost contact with his father and so grew under the guidance of his mom and mom’s family.
Having graduated from Bayside High School, he proceeded to attend Syracuse University where he majored in Broadcasting Journalism.
He became a play-by-play announcer for the four sports teams namely; football, volleyball, lacrosse and basketball teams in this great citadel of learning after having been the first recipient of the Bob Costas Scholarship.

Moving forward, as a junior in college, he worked as an intern with CBS affiliate station, and after graduating in the year 1991, he got a job with ESPN’s Sports Center.
