Lil fell in love with music at the early stages of his life when he listened to the likes of Mike Jones and Ying Yang but not until he heard his classmate, William Aston, freestyle in class over a remade Chris brown instrumental that he decided he would not only listen to music but also sing.
He attended Sayre High School, then Northeast High School. He later went to Olney High School and Camelot High School.
Lil decided to drop school and face his music career. In a bid to help himself, he got a job at bottom dollar, though barely lasting a week; he quit after four days and was kicked out of his home by his furious mother. The situation led to Lil getting his first face tattoo, the word faith under his hairline which provoked him to take his rap career seriously.

Lil began rapping in his 10th grade, calling himself a regular kid. He formed a rap group with few of his friends which includes Aston Williams which the named ”Steakdown” though the group didn’t survive, it was the foundation to what Lil Uzi would become.
After some years of struggle and survival, luck shined on him as Don Cannon whom is a DJ heard his song on Radio and linked him to another DJ, DJ Drama and the duo together with Leighton Morrison signed Lil to a record called ”Generation Now”.
His first two mixtapes ”Purple Thoughtz ” EP vol 1 and ”The Real Uzi” were independently released by him in 2014.
The young rapper embraced Fame in 2015 with the release of his third mix tape ”Luv is Rage” which featured guest artists Young Thug and Wiz Khalifa and it was widely received positively and was featured on numerous music blogs such as Fader, XXL, and Vibe.
He was further called a ”Breakout Artist” of 2015 by hotnewhiphop.
He dropped another mix tape titled ”Lil Uzi vs The World” in 2016, making it his fourth mix tape. The mix tape had some fascinating tracks with hot Jams like ”Money Longer” and ”You Was Right” which got everyone on their dancing shoes.
The track made it to the billboard 200 top 50 and was later certified gold.
On his 22nd birthday, he released his fifth album titled ”The Perfect Luv Tape” to mark his birth. it rose to 20 on the US Top R&B/ Hip hop album charts.
On August 2017, Lil’s heavily – delayed debut studio album, ”Luv Is a Rage 2” which included top ten single with ”XO Tour Llif 3” as the lead single was released and debuted at number one on the billboard 200 chart, later being certified platinum.
Following his signing to Atlantic records, lil were featured on Carnage’s single ”WDYW” with Rich kid and Asap Freg.
He also released several songs on sound cloud including the Metro Boomin produced ”No Wait”, ‘pressure’ which is a collaboration with Lil Durk and Dej Loaf.
While still trying to get his feet up and running, Lil and kodak black embarked on a joint tour in may 2016, titled the parental advisory tour.
Meanwhile, on the return of his tour, he got a record deal with the famous rap group ”Migos” where he featured in their song ”Bad and Bougee”.

The amazing rapper has equally gotten due recognition for his hard work. In 2017 Billboard Music Awards, he got three nominations; as a top artist, Top Rap song and Top Rap Collaboration in ”Bad and Boujee” and eventually won ”Top Artist Award”.
He was named as one of the ten 2016 XXL freshmen on June 13, 2016. Riding the wave of recognition the XXL freshmen list gave him, woods released the video for the single ”Money Longer”.
