Dan was born into a large family of nine children and he attended the University of Nevada and Brigham Young University.

Wayne Sermon – Wayne Sermon was born Daniel Wayne “Wing” Sermoniak on June 15, 1984 in American Fork, Utah, U.S.

Sermon is the band’s lead guitarist standing at the height of 5 Ft 8 In. He enrolled into Berklee College of music where he learnt the art of guitar.

He is married to Alexandra Hall and their union is blessed with two children.


Ben Mckee – Ben Mckee is the band’s bassist who also goes with the alias Soft Hands McKee. He was born Benjamin Arthur McKee on April 7, 1985 in Forestville, California, U.S.

He stands at the height of 5 Ft 7 in, the shortest of the group. Ben attended El Molino High School before advancing to study music at Berklee College of Music.


Daniel Platzman – Daniel is the group’s drummer born on September 28, 1986 in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S

He is the third member of Imagine Dragon who studied as the Berklee College of music with focus on film scoring.

Prior to joining the band, Daniel had gained experience from his affiliation with the ‘Urban Outreach.’

Imagine Dragons’ Career

In 2008 Imagine Dragon’s lead vocalist, Dan Reynolds met with Andrew Tolman who is a drummer during their days as students in Brigham Young University.

They thought and about forming a band and they recruited Andrew Beck (guitar), Dave Lemke (Bass), and Aurora Florence (piano) to the effect and called themselves Anagram.

That year, they hit the studios and started to record songs and eventually, the released their first Extended Play titled ‘Speak to Me.’

In 2009, Andrew invited his high school friend Wayne Sermon to join the group and later he recruited his wife to the group be a backup singer.

The group continued to doing music until the group bassist departed the group and Ben Mckee was recruited as a replacement.
