William Omar Landrón Rivera popularly known as Don Omar is a prominent, talented and renowned Reggaeton (a music genre of the late 1990s originated in Puerto Rico and was popular with Latin American Youths) singer, composer, producer and actor. He was born to the family of William Landrón (Father) and Luz Antonia Rivera (Mother) on the 10th of February, 1978 in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
He is the first child of three children. At a very tender age, he started displaying interest in the music of Luis Armando Lozada Cruz popularly known as “Vico C” (an American Reggaeton songwriter and rapper). Omar came from a Christian home and when he was quite younger, he was known as a preacher in his local protestant church, Iglesias Evangélica Restauración en Cristo, Bayamón.
He later stopped his frequent church activities after four years and focused more on his music career. “Vico C” and “Brewley MC” actually had a very great influence in Omar’s music career as a Reggaeton artist. He is also known with nicknames like King of Kings of Reggaeton Music or El Rey.

On the 1st day of May, 2012, Omar lunched another album titled “Don Omar Presents MTO2: The New Generation” which featured “Natti Natasha” (latest artist of the Orfanato Music Group” label) alongside other artists in the label and “Zion Y. Lennox”, a Reggaeton artist.
At the Latin Grammy Awards, 2012, a hit single titled “Hasta Que Salga El Sol” from the “Don Omar Presents MTO2: The New Generation” album was awarded Best Urban Song of the Year. This was so impressive as it bagged Best Urban Music Album of the Year.
The album was the talk of town as it receives positive reviews from music critics and fanatics. It earned Omar a huge fan base.
A decade after the reigns of Don Omar as the “King of Reggaeton”, a tough rival came on board. “Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez” (A record producer, song-writer, actor, rapper and singer from Puerto Rico) popularly known as “Daddy Yankee” was Omar’s closest rival as some regards Daddy “Yankee” as the “King of Reggaeton”.
Omar and Daddy Yankee later on a Billboard press conference brought to public notice that the duo will be having a stage performance together titled “The Kingdom World Tour”.
The announcement generated lots of argument with greater number of fans doubting the possibility considering their rivalry feud. The Omar in a statement, dropped his famous quote to clear the air.
